About Artist Forum & Tomorrow Comes Today
“Artist Forum was founded with the core purpose of offering a platform where local emerging artists can effectively market and sell their creations, while simultaneously fostering an interactive community of passionate art enthusiasts for networking and learning opportunities.”
“Tomorrow Comes Today is a concept inspired by artists interrogating procrastination, hesitation, or systems that keep people in a state of “almost.”

I presented the Monks Walk For Peace Photos at this space because I felt it fit the theme. The monks in the photos were overwhelmed by the ensuing crowd. People literally fought one another at certain points to meet the monks and get a ribbon on their wrist, or a photo. It was so condensed, and so overwhelming that I had to use my 300mm mirror lens to take the pictures from a distance. It’s somewhat ironic — since I took pictures of the monks with my own camera, but I did it for the sake of documentation and simply observing, respectfully.
About The Monks
The Monks were there in the hopes of reaching Washington D.C, and they started the walk from their temple, the Huong Dao Vipassana Bhavana Center in Fort Worth Texas. They started on October 26th, 2026 — and finally reached their destination on February 10th, 2026. They originally walked to promote global harmony, nonviolence, and mindfulness. Their Intentions were definitely realized by some I believe, but observing how some people viewed them in the moment, how people lost themselves, to some extent in the moment it baffled me.
It was as if there was a rift that existed between certain crowd members and the monks. Some had walked up to the monks and shared a conversation, maybe shared information. But others were so individualistic with the experience, making it about themselves, needing to grab the best possible photo instead of observing and listening to the moment.

How I Came Up With The Shoot
I had seen the open call for this shoot about three weeks before the closing reception in March. I had a lot of ideas for what I wanted to present and submit for entry. Ultimately I settled on wrapping someone up in a clear plastic of some kind, and then conveying the idea of media consuming the subject. To achieve this I visited Home Depot and bought some clear furniture wrap for cheap, finding a location with a lot of clear space and not as many people, found a model (Malika Jones) to take pictures of and setting aside enough money to pay her for her time. Finally I used a Yongnuo Speedlite MKIV Flash and my Sony A7III with Helios 44-2, Super Takumar 105mm, and a 6mm CCTV Lenses.
To achieve being above the subject, I used a step ladder to hover above Malika, and had acquired different focal lengths by simply swapping lenses. I then color graded and cropped the images to my liking in adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
This was my first time being accepted into a gallery, and the experience was rather new and enjoyable for me. I spent most of my time greeting and speaking to friends and family — followed by me people watching who was looking at my work, and trying my best to eavesdrop on what they were saying and what they thought overall.
Ultimately, the images ended up selling for $150.00, which I split down the middle between myself and Malika.

“The Bakery Atlanta is a collective of artists, curators, and administrators dedicated to offering alternative models to local creatives and the general public. We host and produce experiences that connect and inspire people through collaboration, experimentation, and play.”
“These lens-based artists were asked to interpret the act of consumption: the act of purchasing, utilizing, and consuming goods, services, and energy by households, businesses, or governments, and to represent the final use of products in economics, aimed at satisfying needs and wants.”
